High-throughput millifluidic synthesis in hydro-/solvothermal conditions of materials with online control by Raman spectroscopy

This high-throughput materials synthesis platform is sized to produce approximately 40 samples per day of nanostructured materials: oxides, metals, QDs, MOFs, geominerals, organic-inorganic hybrids, molecular materials, etc.

The main operating parameters of this platform are: pressure (up to 300 bar), reagent injection flow rate on 2 lines (up to 10 L.min-1 per line), preheater temperature on one line (up to 500 °C), the reactor temperature (up to 500 °C), the nature and concentration of reagents.

This platform is equipped with an online characterization device by Raman spectroscopy (Labram HR Horiba, equipped with a multi-well automatic analysis module).

The platform is made up of 5 parallel millifluidic synthesis lines made up of:

  • 2 pumps for injecting reagents,
  • 1 preheater on one of the two injection lines,
  • 1 tubular reactor,
  • 1 cooler,
  • 1 outlet pressure regulator.

The Ni-based alloy preheaters and reactors with a length of 6 m allow residence times to be adjusted over a wide range and provide corrosion resistance for many environments.
