Visit of the French Minister of Higher Education and Research, Mr. Philippe Baptiste
Published on
We are very proud to have welcomed Mr. Philippe Baptiste, Minister of Higher Education and Research, and to have had the opportunity to present to him some of the platforms and projects of the PEPR DIADEM.
The visit began at CEA and highlighted three main objectives of the PEPR DIADEM:
→ The establishment of a network of acceleration platforms and autonomous laboratories, the DIADEM Discovery Hub, showcased through the visit of the high-throughput AI-assisted nanomaterials synthesis platforms set up within the UMR CEA (DRF)/CNRS NIMBE.
→ The accelerated design of new materials for low-carbon energy, illustrated by the visit to the platform dedicated to the AI-assisted development of anti-corrosion materials for future nuclear reactors of the SMR (Small Modular Reactors) type operating in molten salt environments.
→ The importance of supporting the evolution of education in materials science: Presentation of the DIADEM training program, tailored and co-designed with partner universities, encompassing three components (initial training, continuing education, and doctoral and postdoctoral training), in front of the new DIADEM 2D experimental platform at INSTN, a member of the PEPR training program.
The Minister then visited IPVF and discovered the MATCH-UP project, funded through the 2023 Call for Projects. Its aim is to synthesize and characterize materials at high throughput to develop new generations of photovoltaic cells with the help of AI. This research theme aligns with that of the PEPR TASE, a France 2030 acceleration strategy aiming to fast-track the deployment of innovative solutions to increase the share of renewable energy in the energy mix.
Congratulations and thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of these visits and helped to highlight the work of the PEPR DIADEM and its connections with the PEPR TASE.
