As part of the DIADEM PEPR, the HIWAY-2-MAT targeted project is dedicated to the combinatorial deposition of thin films and high-speed characterisation. The job involves the sputter deposition of thin oxide layers for applications in the field of X-chromium materials (thermochromium and electrochromium) and their physico-chemical characterisation using tools that promote high throughput and, in particular, structural studies by X-ray diffraction.

  • Deposition of thin films by sputtering – optimisation of deposition parameters, in particular in co-sputtering mode and combinatorial mode
  • Physico-chemical characterisation of the layers
  • Formatting and presentation of results
  • Organising and leading meetings associated with the project and drafting minutes
  • Liaise with partners, in particular the CEA-TECH team
  • Participate in scientific communication and dissemination activities
  • Training and experience in the deposition of thin films by physical means and, if possible, cathodic sputtering
  • Physico-chemical characterisation of materials
  • Data processing using Python codes
  • Good scientific knowledge
  • Demonstrate a high level of rigour and responsiveness
  • A good level of comprehension and expression in English
  • Ability to adapt and communicate
  • Ability to work as part of a team, particularly in a partnership context
  • Ability to interpret and write scientific notes
  • Initiative and open-mindedness
