Fixed term contract of 12 months

CEA MARCOULE

The targeted projects 2FAST and FastNano of the PEPR DIADEM aim to design online synthesis and characterization platforms for nanomaterials obtained via liquid or hydrothermal processes. These platforms will allow for automated adjustment of synthesis conditions (chemical, thermal, hydrodynamic) until the desired properties are achieved.

In this approach, material data is the cornerstone of these platforms and must enable machine learning algorithms to:

  • Correlate observable data from common in situ characterization techniques (such as UV-Visible spectroscopy, which is fast and cost-effective) or SAXS with the fine properties of materials, which require methods and instruments (such as electron microscopy) typically not compatible with real-time monitoring.
  • Correlate common synthesis conditions with the final and desired properties of the materials.
  • Easily transpose or adapt knowledge and methodologies from case studies to other materials of interest.

With their expertise in chemistry, nanomaterials, and light-matter interaction modeling, the NIMBE (Fastnano) and DMRC (2FAST) teams have undertaken to acquire data on model materials from various characterizations (SAXS, UV-Visible spectroscopy, etc.) and numerical simulations.

To meet the objective of rapid and automated screening of synthesis conditions, these material data and metadata must be managed, formatted, and stored to be easily accessible, queryable, compatible (FAIR principles), and interfaced with numerical methods.

As an IT Engineer, and following a preliminary phase of comparing common data management tools in materials science (i.e., SciCat, OPTIMAD, etc.), and working closely with the CEA and CNRS researchers involved in the 2FAST and Fastnano projects, your mission will be to develop tools for formatting, injecting, querying, and extracting data from these two projects.

Based at the Marcoule center (which coordinates data acquisition for the 2FAST and Fastnano projects), you will have regular interactions with the NIMBE/LIONS team at CEA Saclay and with the DIAMOND platform (managed by CEA/IRIG in Grenoble). vous serez en interaction régulière le NIMBE/LIONS du CEA Saclay et avec la plateforme DIAMOND (pilotée par le CEA/IRIG à Grenoble).
